John Atkins was born in Essex, England in 1956. He is a self-taught artist-photographer specializing in silver-halide origination, and digital manipulation for the final stage of image production.
His style and approach to each assignment is both unique and original. John 'sees' the subject
differently from other photographers.
'I envisage the internal rhythms and rhyme of light radiating from the subject's "soul" says John, 'and then capture that precise moment when I detect there is harmony.' 'This moment I define as the poetry of light.'
John's background in press photography and photojournalism, allows him to be a confident communicator, at ease in the most demanding circumstances.
